FAQs
SCREEN PRINTING
-
First we start with getting all details about the job from the customer. Designs are anywhere from $25-50 dollars per design. Once we see the complexity of the design we will send an artwork quote. Once the quote is approved our designer will get to work for you! Alterations to your design are encouraged. After 3 alterations there will be an additional art fee charge every 2 hours.
-
Review the customers needs and wants for their shirt (design, layout, colors, etc)
Send an estimate based on garments selected, quantities, number of imprint locations, and number of imprint colors
Send artwork proofs for approval.
Customer approves artwork and estimate.
Once artwork and estimate are approved and we receive your deposit we will order in the garments, prep the screens for production and add you to the production schedule.
You will be notified by email or phone when your order is complete.
Invoices will be emailed to the email address on file. Cash and Check payments are always accepted at pick up, or you can pay the invoice in advance online by credit card.

Screen Printing involves creating a stencil, known as a screen, and then using that screen to apply ink on the printing surface. Each individual color is applied using a different screen, one at a time, combined to achieve the final look. The more colors a design has, the more screens that are needed, and the more setup time required.
The ink in screen printing is applied thicker than digital printing, which results in brighter colors – even on darker shirts. Screen printing is the best option for designs that require a high level of vibrancy, specialty products, or for quantities greater than 12 pieces. While Independent Custom Graphics has no minimums for screen printing, price is usually a prohibitive factor under 12 pieces.
Direct to Film is a much newer process that involves your artwork being processed by a computer, and then printed onto a transfer film, and then it is applied to the shirt with a heatpress. The fact that the design is processed and printed digitally allows for a quantity of one, since there are no screens or physical setup.
Digital to Film is best used for items that require large amounts of detail and/or print colors, and for orders of a smaller quantity. The fact that the digital printer does not use screens allows for a print with much more detail than traditional screen printing. As the ink is applied thinner, digital printing is best used on lighter colored shirts to allow the design to shine through.
-
Type of garment: For almost every product type we have an inexpensive, mid-range, and high end option, and there are many styles to choose from – not just t-shirts!
Quantity ordered: Due to the setup involved in screen printing, the more shirts you order, the lower your price will be as you pass price break points.
Number of locations printed: Each location requires new setup and runs for your imprint. A front print only will always be cheaper than a front and back print.
Number of colors on each design: The number of colors in each design affects the run time and setup for each location. A one color print will be less expensive than a three color print. If you have a lot of colors and tones of colors in your design, a process print may be a cheaper solution.
In-hands date: Orders are produced on-demand for your due date. We typically have a 7-14 day turnaround, orders needed quicker can be rushed with a rush fee applied.
-
Typical turnaround time is 7-14 business days. Turnaround time is only an estimate, is not guaranteed and starts when your quote is approved and we have all the information to complete your job. Complex designs or orders with extra add-ons may increase turnaround time. If you have a deadline for your order, you must let us know when placing your order and a rush fee may apply. Taking longer than 24 hours to approve your digital proofs may delay your order. Any circumstances out of Independent Custom Graphics’ control (ie: weather delays, shipping errors by the supplier, etc.) may also require more time and are not factored into the initial turn around time estimate.
-
For screen printing, we can do as small as 12 shirts per design but there will be some restrictions on size and number of colors. We recommend printing at least 50 for best pricing. There is no minimum purchase for all other services.
EMBROIDERY
-
There is a one-time digitizing fee. Fees are waived on some large orders and some sales. Contact us to see if you qualify for this, or to get a quote on your digitizing price.
-
Digitizing is the process where we take your logo/text and create actual stitch paths for the machine to use to sew. This is not the same as having a vector file or cad file. Completely different process involved.
-
We sew your logo around 12" wide on Jackets/Work Shirts. It all depends on the proportions of your logo. Contact us if you have a special requirement. We always make designs as large as possible.
-
7-14 Business days is our production time. Sometimes less though. We generally give you a time frame upon ordering.
-
Yes, you may, however you may pay a little more to setup for one garment
-
Center Front is 5.5 x 2 high. Offset front panel is 2.75x2. In theory though we can sew 270 degrees on a hat without taking it off the machine, (roughly ear to ear).
-
Yes, sure can at additional cost. Note though not all logos will work for this, its better if you have a logo with wider lettering/graphics. Thin lettering or too large of a filled area does not turn out well.
-
A good sewn out design all starts with a good digitized file. Your machine will only sew as good as the digitized file. Take a look through our embroidery gallery to get an idea of our quality. I put myself in your shoes. Would I wear that?
-
Yes, 15 colors is the max we will do per design, we could do more but come on. Most logos do not have more than 2-3-4-5 colors in them, so it's never been an issue really.
-
We stock around 40 colors. We have all the standard colors, but we will bring in specific colors to match your logo with a small fee.
-
Short answer is if you can stick a needle through it then we can embroider on it, so yes.
VEHICLE GRAPHICS
-
Vehicle graphics allow you to personalize your vehicles to match your company's branding. With custom vinyl designs, you can add valuable information, like your company name and contact information. You can also decorate it with your logo and other brand-appropriate images. At Independent Custom Graphics we currently do not offer full vehicle wraps. We do offer partial wraps and lettering. Please see our completed jobs to see what we offer.
-
Vehicle graphics pricing is based on the amount of vinyl used and complexity of the designs.
-
Independent Custom Graphics has its own talented, in-house graphic designer. Using the latest technology, we work directly with our clients throughout the entire process to ensure that their message and branding are exactly how they envisioned it. We make sure that we receive approval on any final mockups or proofs before moving onto the printing stage.
-
Our main shop is located in Coopersburg, PA although if you are local and request onsite installation, we will do our best to accommodate you.
-
Vehicle graphics can only be installed on rear and rear side windows. We ensure that all of our window graphics are printed with a special perforated vinyl that allows the driver and passengers to see through.
-
Of course! We can adjust your vehicles graphics, logos and messaging when needed. We can reprint and reinstall the vinyl where needed.
-
Absolutely, vehicle graphics are easy to remove! Removing vinyl is a simple process that doesn’t take a lot of time. Removing vehicle graphics does require the proper tools and experience. When removed properly, the vinyl vehicle wrap will not cause any damage to the underlying paint.
-
No, it will not. When the vinyl is installed and removed properly by professionals, it will not cause any damage to the vehicle’s underlying paint. In fact, when installed properly, a vinyl vehicle wrap will help to protect your vehicle’s underlying paint for years to come. With the exception, if your vehicle has been repainted poorly.
-
The life expectancy of a vehicle wrap depends on the quality of materials, printing and installation. On average, most vehicle wraps last between 5-7 years.
-
Treat your vehicle graphics with care and try to stick to hand washing. Avoid using any type of scraper or power washing as these can cause damage. You can brush your vehicle’s windows and use your vehicle’s rear defroster as you normally would.
-
Depending on the size and scope of the wrap, it usually takes us between 1-2 days to complete. Before we start the process, we provide our customers with a time estimate.
